Removal
NOTES:
The rocker panel inner reinforcement is manufactured from boron steel.
The rocker panel inner reinforcement is unpicked from the side panel reinforcement 'ring-frame', it is not serviced separately.
In this procedure the b-pillar reinforcement will be fitted in combination with the rocker panel inner reinforcement when unpicked from the ring frame service panel.

3. Remove the rocker panel.

4. Remove the b-pillar reinforcement panel.

5. NOTE: A drill bit suitable for drilling boron should be used on the boron spot welds. Drill out the spot welds.
6. Separate the joints and remove the old panel.
Installation
1. NOTE: A drill bit suitable for drilling boron should be used on the boron spot welds. Drill out the spot welds on new panel as indicated.
2. NOTE: A drill bit suitable for drilling boron should be used on the boron spot welds. Drill out the spot welds on new panel as indicated.
3. Separate the joints and remove the rocker panel inner reinforcement and b-pillar reinforcement from the ring frame.
4. NOTE: With panel in position check for access to spot weld the joints, if there is no access to spot weld, MIG braze slots must be installed in these areas. Offer up the new panel and clamp into position. Check alignment, if correct, proceed to next step, if not, rectify and recheck before proceeding.
5. Cut 8mm x 20mm slots as indicated in new panel ready for MIG braze slots.

7. Prepare the old and new panel joint surfaces, including NVH component.
8. Offer up the new panel and clamp into position. Check alignment, if correct, proceed to next step, if not, rectify and recheck before proceeding.
9. Remove the new panel.

11. Apply sealer adhesive to the NVH component on the new panel.
12. Offer up the new panel and clamp into position. Check alignment, if correct, proceed to next step, if not, rectify and recheck before proceeding.
13. NOTES:
Spot welding is completed when the rocker panel and B-pillar outer are installed.
Joints with new panel bonding adhesive in them must be fully spot welded on installation

14. MIG braze the slots.
15. Dress all welded joints.
16. Apply a zinc rich primer to any bare metal surfaces at this stage.
17. The installation of associated panels and mechanical components is the reverse of removal.
